This is a great exercise for writers and students!
As far as I’m concerned, this site is the best on the web for teaching the novice and intermediate writer. I have learned boatloads from Randy. He’s a great guy, but also an amazing teacher.
I would add to this list Randy Ingermanson’s blog, Advanced Fiction Writing. I will post that link next.
This is important for authors to master. I’m not there yet, but I’m trying. For me, right now, I’m just not sure where the emphasis should be, which is why I have so many different blogs. My thinking might be flawed, but I was thinking that eventually I’d figure out where my emphasis is by how many readers I gain on each blog, and what I’m most passionate about writing. I have yet to figure that out.
If you get writer’s block, a great idea is to get on Writer’s Digest and look for a list like this. It gives you a place to start. And then, just start writing. Don’t worry about what makes sense and what doesn’t, just start writing and pretty soon, a story will come.
If you’re interested in writing for teens, check out this site!
Fascinating. I think I’ll order a copy.
I always say, you can never be too thin or have too much closet space! :-)
